St mary's Church and Holt Lodge

Last week’s wedding was something old and something new for me! The old was St Mary’s Church in Mold which is a magnificent grade one listed church which I haven’t been to for a few year now and the new was a new venue in Holt Lodge which is only a few miles from my studio. It was a lovely wedding with loads and loads of kids, the happy couple where Ian and Kerry Cousen.

Low Light Wedding Photography

The first image you see has just came second in the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers weekly competition and it got me thinking about low light photography. Often couples ask about the problems with bad weather and wedding photography but in reality poor weather can lead to some amazing indoor photographic opportunities. Even on a lovely sunny summer’s day I always try and take a few indoor shots – I want every page in a wedding album to be different and entertaining and believe the best way to do this is variety. I aim to produce a variety of poses in a variety of locations for the album. I hope you enjoy the low light images even if it is the season to be out in the sun!
